Young Eagles Program
Inspiring Future Aviators
Welcome to the Young Eagles Program!
Whether you have a junior or a teen who is obsessed with planes, flying, and how aircraft work, you’ve landed in the right place.
We offer two distinct aviation programs tailored to different age groups and stages of interest.
Juniors Program (ages 10–13) is a fun, exploratory introduction to aviation, designed for curious kids who love aircraft and hands-on learning. Its goal is to inspire interest, build confidence, and spark excitement around flying in a safe, club-based environment.
Teens Program (ages 14 – 17) is a in-depth, pathway-focused experience for teenagers who are seriously considering becoming a pilot. Its goal is to provide clarity and direction – explaining what pilot training involves, how to prepare through school subjects, and what steps are required to turn interest into a real aviation career. Together, these programs support young people at every stage, from early curiosity to confident, informed first steps toward flight training.

Teens Young Eagles Program
This program is designed specifically for teenagers who have been thinking seriously about becoming a pilot and want a clear, realistic understanding of what it takes to reach that goal.
The Teens Program provides an in-depth look at the aviation pathway, covering everything participants need to know to get started. We explain what pilot training involves, what steps lie ahead, and which school subjects to focus on to best prepare for a future in aviation. This program is about clarity – helping participants understand exactly what’s required and whether this pathway is right for them.
The program is run by our Club’s qualified instructor pilots, the same instructors who may go on to train participants as future students. This gives teens the opportunity to ask questions, gain honest advice, and build early connections with instructors who understand their goals and can guide them forward.
Participants will visit the Jandakot Control Tower and enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of either the Police Air Wing or the Royal Flying Doctor Service. They’ll explore our aircraft fleet, Club facilities, and maintenance hangar, and learn how pilots prepare for flight through hands-on pre-flight checks. They’ll also take part in engaging lessons covering navigation, radio calls, and the effects of flight controls – essentially their first unofficial flying lesson drawn directly from the pilot training syllabus.
The experience is rounded out with time on a flight simulator and a 45-minute Trial Flight in a Cessna 152, giving participants their first official taste of flying and a genuine insight into life in the cockpit.
