Murrayfield Aerodrome

OBJECTIVE: Fly a circuit from Australian Naval Battle Group Alpha Flagship, aircraft carrier H.M.A.S. Murrayfield, exchange verbal comments with Tower Staff and return for a deck landing. Essentially a Performance Takeoff, Performance Landing with a circuit in the middle. No current licence is required.

From 1300’ conduct an accurate Practice Forced Landing from overhead Murrayfield. Great practice for a situation we hope you never have!

Accuracy is the name of the game; fly the most accurate circuit you can, then land as close as possible to the nominated “spot”. Anyone can come along, non pilots through to CPL – you don’t have to be current & it all counts in your log book!

Aim is the name of the Flour Bombing game. Drop a flour payload out of the aircraft during a low pass on to a ground target. Closest to the centre wins - simple! Who says you need instruments to fly an accurate circuit? This competition will test your ability to fly a normal circuit using only your eyes and ears to judge all your maneuvers. No current licence is required as competitors can fly with an air judge who will keep the flight safe and rate your abilities.
