Trial Flights
Trial Flights
A trial flight is a fantastic way to experience what flying is all about.
With one of our professional flight instructors at your side, you will actually get to pilot either one of our Slings or one of our Cessna 152 Aerobats.
During your flight you will learn the basics of taxiing, take-off and how to keep straight and level during flight. What’s more, if you decide to continue training, you can log your trial flight in your pilot’s logbook.
Experience Aerobatics
If it’s the thrill of the loops and barrel rolls you’re chasing, our flight instructors can help with that, too. Aerobatics experiences are available on our 45-minute and one-hour Cessna flights.
Trial flights are available now as a gift voucher, through our online store.
Flight Highlights
What to expect
On the day of your flight, it all begins with your pre-flight briefing. Your Instructor will explain the aircraft controls, and outline the fundamentals of piloting a light aircraft. You will taxi the aircraft out onto the runway, pilot it during take off and fly!
Your Trial Introductory Flight is your very first entry into your Pilot Log Book if you choose to continue to fly so it could well be the start of a life long love or even a career. This is an experience not to be missed.

Here’s what people had to say about their Trial Flight experience at the Royal Aero Club of WA.
EXCELLENT Based on 118 reviews Posted on Ravi KalidindiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lots of trainee pilots. Unfortunately I did not have the luxury of getting on a 2 seater plane or a chopper 😔Posted on Glen NielsenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff at RACWA are the most professional and accommodating people I have ever dealt with. A pleasure to do business with.Posted on Chris StewardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Learn the wonders of flying, enjoy scenic flights to Rottnest or take a Tiger Moth flight. It's all at the Royal Aero Club of WAPosted on Peter - TheNomad.familyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I'm a private pilot from Germany, currently traveling the world with my family. I try to fly wherever we stay for an extended period and, if possible, obtain a license. I had already completed the paperwork with CASA and only needed a flight review to activate my license. I contacted the Royal Aero Club by email a few weeks before arriving in Perth and received a detailed reply outlining the requirements for the flight review and offering their assistance. Since I hadn't flown in a long time—the last time was in New Zealand in March—I arranged a training flight. The flight instructor was Pia Durk. She is a great and patient flight instructor and helped me refresh my rusty flying skills. Due to time constraints and bad weather, I wasn't able to schedule another training session or flight review, but I'll try again elsewhere. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit to the Royal Aero Club and the entire process. It's great that guest pilots from other countries are welcome here too.Posted on Mert Can YakarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nick and I did the Learn to Fly Day, incredible instructors, smooth flight, and the best way to feel like pilots for an hour 😅✈️Posted on Ken WallisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Always a great place to wait a while. Aircraft and friendly people.
